Waiting
Got plenty of sunshine today, but not so many squirrels. For a while I thought that they would be a complete no-show, just a reminder to me why I gave up my wildlife photographer dreams years ago. Landscapes and flowers don’t have feet!
Ironically, this is the time of the year I’ve been waiting for with the squirrels. All those pictures I’ve taken so far, it’s just been preparation for these sunny mornings… find the best perches, best angles, learn their behaviour… So I hope that they won’t be all too busy with procreation to come for a quick snack every once in a while on a sunny Saturday or Sunday morning!

Why do I get a feeling that is just not so very squirrellish
For some reason that posture looks more like a… well some other mammal, rabbit perhaps? Nice exposure on assumably quite harsh light though!
That said, I gotta say that today late afternoon the light was very very very nice indeed around Hudiksvall! Now I only hope I managed to capture it on some frames feasibly
(it wasn’t all just mud after all
)
That’s actually a good observation about the pose… The squirrels made such a late appearance that I didn’t get any really good ops, or catch the best of the light earlier in the morning. This one is about 10am, but the perch gets sunlight already soon after sunrise.
Nice light in the afternoon? I was just bummed out at the wind, and the way the landscape looks… icy crust on the snow, and wind blown debris everywhere. Anything but photogenic.
Very nice light indeed! Luckily you have something to shoot, it is all muddy, dark and windy here.
