minnak.net update

October 04th, 2006 | Category: canada, website
Did some minor design tweaks and tidied up the Canada collection, so the link I posted yesterday no longer works. You’ll need to go via the main site and click the Canada link in the menu. Oh and I seem to have left some bugs behind, will get to them… one day.

As for the other content on the site, well we’ll see if I’m ready to pick up the camera again this weekend. We still have autumn colours and mushrooms so the forest should provide plenty of subjects. On the other hand, my new tv arrives tomorrow. LOL!

20 Canada favourites

October 03rd, 2006 | Category: canada, vacation
I have put together the best of my Canada photos, please have a look here. By the time I had finished with the 20, I was too tired to come up with a nice presentation so I just did a quick and dirty thumbnail conversion in Irfanview… I will try to improve on it tomorrow. I just couldn’t wait with the photos though, enjoy!

Which Castle Mountain?

October 02nd, 2006 | Category: canada
Calling out for opinions! We had a great chance to photograph Castle Mountain in the afternoon light. I used the polarising filter to enhance colours, but I had to choose - either polarise the sky and the mountain for deeper colours, or polarise the water to bring out the shadows and light for a stronger (?) foreground.

At post processing, I can combine these two versions so I have a polarised sky and polarised foreground. The question is, which one is better? Please have a look at the series of images and state your preference, I really need some opinions and it doesn’t matter whether you’re a photographer or never picked up a camera at all! A simple “1″, “2″ or “3″ is enough and anonymous comments are accepted, but feel free to comment more if you feel like it… Much appreciated!

Since the labels underneath each post do not seem to pull out all the blog entries under that particular label, here’s the full list of the Canadian holiday entries:
