About Me

I have had the priviledge of living in many different countries, something which undoubtedly has helped me to see the world with new eyes and thus has also contributed to my photography. I lived in Finland until 1994, then moved to Denmark for a year, five years in England after that and currently I live in Sweden.

Until December 1999 I had been just your average holiday snapper. I was happy if I got some beautiful shots in there but otherwise it was just for the memories. But during the autumn of 1999 I started planning for a safari and realised that the only way I could take pictures of the animals would be with an SLR camera.

Havings thus bought my first SLR camera and lenses I started practising to be ready for the safari. Things slowly evolved from that, the safari came and went and I was hooked on photography. Initially I wanted to concentrate on wildlife photography, but just didn't have the time and energy required to master that art. Plants and sceneries don't run away though and I found that close-up photography suited me perfectly. Detail, detail, that's my motto!

Photography is a hobby for me but I have had some pictures published in a few Finnish magazines, including a cover. Occasionally I also write articles and I am happy to say that those have been put to paper as well together with my photos.

I am currently represented by Lucky Look Images (Bildbyrån Lucky Look) in Sweden.

They say that if you want to make money with your photography, then sell your gear... Photography is a bottomless money pit and better equipment doesn't make you a better photographer and maybe I have invested more than I should have, but at least I'm having lots of fun!
